Janet shares guides throughout the weekend with universal wisdom and practices. The Mitote is a focal ceremony that raises our energy, clears and heals what is in our way, and allows us to receive information in lucid dreaming.

The focal practice is the Mitote Ceremony on Saturday night, which involves chanting the Gayatri Mantra and Lucid Dreaming from the Don Miguel Ruiz Toltec lineage. Janet has held a Mitote yearly since 2002. Each experience energizes, clears, and inspires. . 

The Mitote ceremony is a sacred ritual in dreaming performed through the night. As one group chants around the fire-candle, the second group lies in blankets and moves into lucid dreaming. We change places several times over several hours for a profound experience.

We have time to rest during the day to prepare for this nighttime ceremony, which allows us to leave the weekend refreshed.

This ceremony has been passed down through the various Toltec lineages to transform one’s dream. It impacts the participant on multiple dimensions. 

Raising our energy, letting go, and receiving visions allow transformation and transcendence.

You may feel free to join this retreat or the Vision Quest in June. Both are powerful. Although these two weekend ceremonies are unique in execution, they have similar results in going beyond your current focus and awareness into greater connection, depth, clarity, vision, and purpose.

We enjoy walks in the woods, bonfires at night, a star-filled sky, an outdoor soaking tub, horses to visit, and a nature-spirit-filled property. Janet also leads us through advanced Shamanic practices from the Toltec, Celtic, and Siberian traditions, along with a Native American Medicine Wheel Circle.

These ceremonies, journeys, and practices assist us in going within, letting go of the past that does not serve us, and raising our energy as we receive direction, resolution, and clarity for anything we question. Janet flows with the group’s needs regarding how we move through the weekend and which practices we work with. You will also have the opportunity to have personal time alone to journal, walk, and sit in nature.

OUR RETREAT SPACE

Art Farm is a farm converted to retreat space in the Hudson Valley west of New Paltz off the NY Thruway and Rt. 209. Janet rents the cabins and acres of property for privacy. We have a main cabin and smaller cabins with linens for sleeping and working together inside. A pine forest campground has a flush toilet and an outdoor stone-lined hot shower for tent campers. We bring our food and have an ample, fully appointed kitchen and indoor and outdoor seating. It is suggested that we make our food simple and quick to prepare.

OUR GUIDE

Janet StraightArrow has studied spiritual, personal, and healing Mastery since 1967, when she decided to heal herself from a dire diagnosis. Her studies have been extensive and an adventure exploring many known and unknown methods with Masters, Shamans, Gurus, Medical Doctors, Renowned Teachers seeking complete healing, Spiritual and Personal Mastery while uncovering her life purpose and gifts, and Shamanic Calling.

Janet loves working with people to accelerate their journey. She began teaching Whole Foods Nutrition in 1981. She moved into spiritual healing and coaching, along with Reiki Master and Shamanic Training, and has been bringing a universal blend of teachings and practices to groups and individuals since 1995.
